MCA Coding Preparation
If you are considering offsetting your ownership costs of a vessel under 24m and earning an income by commercially operating for charter then the Marine Coastguard Agency (MCA) has stipulated that all such craft must be equipped and presented in a condition such that they meet a ‘Code’ called MGN280. The MCA has appointed various Certifying Authorities to oversee the enforcement of the ‘Code’, the largest being the RYA.
Julian Smith of Hamble Marine Surveys is an appointed MCA Code of Compliance Examiner.

With our extensive experience with the 'Code' we are able to offer a consultancy service to assist in the preparation of your vessel to meet the MCA Code of Practice and assist where necessary in the fit-out of your vessel and completion of the paperwork necessary prior to inspection.
