RYA Code of Compliance Examiner


The MCA Code of Practice is a commercial preparation of a craft to meet requirements for design, equipment installed and conduct. It is outlined in details in the 'Code' (MGN 280) as published by ther Marine Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Whether a sight seeing day boat or charter yacht, the 'Code' is applied to that craft and stipulated the preparation of such to meet the requirements and to provide a safe environment for the paying public.

Following a career in new yacht commissioning and running charter fleets Julian Smith has over 10 years experience with preparing yachts to meet the MCA Code.  He has worked closely with the Royal Yachting Association for many years who are one of several Certifying Authorities appointed to oversee the Code of Practice administration.
